Ahhhh, fuck it.
|
| The first Seven (7) people to respond to this post will get something made by me.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. - What I create will be just for you. - It'll be done this year (2009). - You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be origami. It may be fetish clothing. I may draw or paint something. Who knows? Not me, that's for sure! - I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. - Additional caveat: I reserve the right to make something for your kid(s) instead of you. :)
The catch is that you have to put this in your journal as well, if you expect me to do something for you! | comments: Leave a comment |

| A few of you have probably been wondering where I have been hiding lately.
I can't speak for the months before the last month but the last month has been absolutely shitty.
One of my good friends, Johnny Altinger went missing on or about Oct. 10th. We (his friends) all got emails from him saying that he had met a wonderful woman named Jen and he was going on an all-expenses-paid vacation to Costa Rica and he would be back December 10. His Facebook status was also updated to "in a relationship" and his blurb said "John is wondering why anyone would want to trade sun & surf for snow & stress".
Fast forward to a week later.
I get an email from his step-niece, wanting to know if I'd seen him or heard from him. Apparently the EPD (Edmonton Police Department) has been looking for him and considered his disappearance "suspicious". So I spoke with a nice detective on the case about the last time I had seen him (late summer). The detective assumed he had a laptop that was stolen until I said that he didn't have a lappy. If he couldn't build it, he didn;t need it. He even scoffed at my MacBook Pro.
So fast forward to November 1. I'm at work, by myself in the parts department and I receive a phone call that someone named Mark Twitchell has been charged with first-degree murder in relation to Johnny's disappearance but they don't have a body to send home to his mom and stepdad. I know his mom is sick about this. She is really a sweet woman and has never been anything but nice to me. I have more details about the case but will not go into detail here because the media has been contacting me, asking me to do interviews. I feel I owe it to Johnny and his family not to. I did one because I wanted the world to know what a sweet soul Johnny was and that he didn't deserve this.
As well, one of my best friends, Gerry, was diagnosed with lung cancer over a month ago. His attitude? "I'm gonna kick its ass!" Well, it's kicking HIS ass. A few weeks ago he had a seizure and a stroke and they discovered it was in his brain. He is still in the hospital. They even moved him to palliative care for a day but he bounced back out of his coma and is now eating grapes, recognizing people and they had him up out of his bed. I haven't been able to visit because I've been sick for weeks. Damn stress.
I guess what I want to say is hug your loved ones close and tell them how much they mean to you. You never know if that is the last time you will see them. I never got to say goodbye to Johnny but how was I to know he was going to be taken from the world so violently? He didn't deserve that and Gerry doesn't deserve what's happening to him either.
I love my friends. I really do. I've developed a new appreciation for them through all this. I just wish I could see a lot of them more often. | comments: 7 comments or Leave a comment |

| Oh my!
An update!
Things have been busy in my life. I left my job at Kia. I start a new one with Chrysler on Wednesday. Onward and upward, I guess. I also am one of those wacky Mac people you hear so much about. I just didn't want to deal with Windows Shitsta so I broke down, went out and plunked down a nice chunk of change on a shiny new MacBook Pro. Should come in handy for photo editing and stuff. It's soooo nice. It runs nicely without a hitch, wish I could say the same for my Toshiba Satellite. While I liked my Toshiba, XP was getting all buggy even after I reformatted. Time to move on. I always wanted to make the switch to a Mac so I figured now was as good a time as any. I'm so happy I did.
Well, there's not too much else happening. | comments: 6 comments or Leave a comment |
| So it's 2008.
I rang in the new year by getting my foot stomped on by some psycho at the bar wearing spiked heels. Now I have a bruisem that looks like the spike heel on my foot, the rest of my foot is purple and swollen. I love drunken idjuts. | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
| Found in a cheap 'n' tacky souvenir shop on the Las Vegas Strip right next to the M&M Factory.
Should I have bought it? :-) | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| I bought a new toy today.
A Digital Rebel XT. I've only been lusting for a DSLR for, ohhh, five or six years. So I finally broke down and bought one.

| On the weekend, one of my bestest buddies, Mark, flew in from England for a week.
A few of us old friends decided to gather for pints (which turned into pitchers) of beer. We started at a brew pub and ended up at a titty bar.

| I put a window mount air conditioner in my bedroom. Princess Lucy is not happy.
See, during the day I leave the window open and she (and the other two) come and go as they please. Now that's changed because there's this alien machine that (to them) is NOISY and it's inconveniencing The Princess.
She looks at the air conditioner with a "fuck you" look on her face and then she gives me an odd look. Hey, my right to a cool bedroom trumps her right to use my window as a kitty door.

| I guess I haven't damaged my ears from all those years at loudass concerts and clubs!
You aren't even a teenager yet! | Your hearing rules! You're either quite young or you've looked after your ears. The highest pitched ultrasonic mosquito ringtone that I can hear is 19.9kHz | | Find out which ringtones you can hear! |
It freaked the shit out of my cat, haha. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| I knew this was the reason. Ha!
| You Don't Have a Boyfriend Because You are Too Busy | While a relationship sounds nice, you're strapped for time Whether you're legitimately busy or just making excuses... ... You don't give men enough of your time. As nice as "instant love" would be, there's just no such thing. |

| I was reading a post patrickandraste wrote about getting back in the dating game and it reminded me why I just can't get out there and date anymore. Dating makes me feel ugly. I'm terrified of getting out there and meeting new people. I'm getting old. I don't want to deal with men who have kid baggage and that is the norm nowadays rather than the exception. I could go on.
I'm pretty much fucked. SO I think it is much easier just to be a "eunuch" , not date and just go about my life (ie. do what I am doing now, go to work, come home and on the weekends hang out with my brother up here and when I go to Seattle, hang out with Sandra).
Dating terrifies the living shit out of me. | comments: 14 comments or Leave a comment |
| I don't know how many people actively read this because, well, I suck at writing in it. I know I do. I do have a lot to say but I suck at formulating my thoughts in written word.
